Abe Lederman

Abe has 25 years of experience in computer software engineering. He began his career with Hewlett Packard and was then recruited to become a founding member of Verity, a startup pioneer in the field of search engine technology. In 1994, Abe left Verity and later founded Innovative Web Applications (IWA), a software consulting firm primarily serving Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL). While consulting with LANL and the U.S. Department of Energy's Office of Scientific and Technical Information (OSTI), Abe came to realize the enormous potential for federated search technology to accelerate the diffusion of knowledge. He founded Deep Web Technologies in 2002. Abe holds Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Larry’s career includes over 20 years of Internet development and information technology experience. Before coming to Deep Web Technologies, Larry helped found SpaBoom, a leader in Internet-based Instant Gift Certificate functionality. Prior to that, Larry was COO and Corporate Counsel for FatCow Web Hosting, helping to manage that company to profitable, triple-digit growth rates and oversaw the sale of FatCow for a higher-than-average valuation. Larry is licensed to practice law in the State of New Mexico, the State of Illinois, and is a registered patent attorney.
As a seasoned high-tech professional, Larry complements the Deep Web team with his extensive high-tech business management and growth experience. His successful track record designing, developing and leading complex Internet-based business, serves as a springboard for designing and deploying Deep Web’s business and go-forward strategy.

Brian Despain

Brian has spent the last 12 years working in early stage high-tech startups. He co-founded Brave New Worlds in 1996, an open source e-commerce software startup based in Pasadena, California. Brian led the company as CEO until the sale of the company to VA Software in 2000. He oversaw all aspects of the company, including product development of the award winning Xao e-commerce suite. After the acquisition, Brian became managing director of the e-commerce professional services practice at VA Software. He has spent the last 5 years working on various projects at his early stage incubator, Thalasar Ventures.

Andy has been a founder or co-founder of four different technology startups spanning the past seventeen years. Prior to joining Deep Web Technologies Andy was President & CEO of Packet Analytics a venture-backed Network Forensic Search Engine software company based on technology licensed exclusively from Los Alamos National Laboratory. One of Andy’s previous companies, Panorama Point Corporation grew to just under 20 people with offices in New Mexico and Arizona and established its position as New Mexico’s premier web communications company serving clients such as Lucent Technologies, The Santa Fe Opera and the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum. Andy led the sale of Panorama Point to a leading search engine optimization and web development firm in January of 2005. Andy brings his experience and background in emerging technology businesses to Deep Web Technologies to identify long-lasting, win-win corporate partnerships. Andy graduated with a B. A. in Business Administration from the School of Business & Economics at WVU.

Dan Heidebrecht

Dan has 18 years experience in software engineering with an emphasis on scalability and distributed systems for information retrieval. His practical experience ranges from the design and implementation of real time software for currency trading applications to the architecture and design of massively scalable consumer web sites that support millions of unique views per day. Dan architected, designed and developed the presentation layer for the Deep Web Technologies web services based distributed information retrieval system. To further the Deep Web Technologies' commitment to connector excellence, Dan recently designed and implemented a ruby-based client configuration layer and created an architecture for client connector configuration that exposes a metadata layer for use in automated source configuration.
